Unrest
Jason Todd Ipson - Director
"The most psychologically horrifying experience I've had to-date, took
place during my first class of Gross Anatomy. As medical students we
entered the classroom with a sense of humility and trepidation. Afterall,
we were about to cut up a dead body. No amount of experience and education
could possibly prepare one for that moment. The class was intended to
be an introduction to Gross Anatomy. Our first official class wouldn't
start for another week. The professor entered the room and announced,
"Let's begin". None of us were prepared for that indescribable moment.
We were thrown into a baptism of fire.
My company, Asgaard Entertainment, is somewhat driven by my own personal ideology. Once our company has decided to move forward with a particular project, we begin a broad search for the strongest and most appropriate talent. Asgaard is now working on the postproduction of "Unrest" and is presently in preproduction for "Everyone Wants To Be Italian" and "The First Vampire" for 2006. We are already in the early stages of preproduction for "La Prima Famiglia" for 2007. In casting "Unrest", we were fortunate enough to find really good actors, all of whom are on the cusp of strong careers. Anyone who has been privy to the film has commented on the talent, " Wow" they've said, "These people are going to be big stars someday". The star of our movie is Corri English. She has a lead in an upcoming television series called "The Bedford Diaries" which will air on the WB network. All signs seem to indicate the show's potential to be a huge hit. The film "Unrest" will be released as her series hits nationwide syndication. The other leads Joshua Alba, Jay Jablonski & Scot Davis have a strong potential to ignite. We are fortunate enough to have the LA based company Optic Nerve to handle our special effects. The company is headed by Greg Solomon and supported by his associate Brad Hardin. Optic Nerve has been awarded 4 Emmy's for their high standards. The settings and emotions explored in this film provide a real, unfiltered experience for the viewer that is not typical of the horror genre. I suspect some audience members will reflect back on "Unrest" with the sense of having had a disturbing personal experience with the deceased. "

"Jason
and I have one of the best relationships that I have with any of the
directors that I have worked with. It's not just about lighting, color
and the usual director-DP conversations. Jason is a very open collaborator.
Jason put his script out there, and says "That is what I'm going
for and this is what is important and let's work together to make that
happen." It means that the choices about lighting also affect design
and a conversation about performance is going to affect lighting. We
really dive on all levels and he is open to that, which is one of the
reasons that I like working with him.
Corri
English - Allison Blanchard Jason (Todd Ipson) having been a surgeon, and having him directing us, is amazing. Not only could he tell us the technical side of it, but also the emotional side of it. He's been through medical school. This is his life. When I was deciding my career path, I thought that I might want to be a doctor. It was always something that fascinated me. I used to watch surgeries and things because they always fascinated me."
Jay Joblonski - Rick O'Connor "My
character, Rick O'Conner is an upper-class kind of kid. He kind of grew
up with the amenities that kept life much more simple than someone who
had to work for it. Corri's character in the movie is living basically
in a closet because she can't afford room and board at the medical school,
with my character that would have never been an issue. His parents wanted
him to go to law school and follow in the same footsteps as his father
as a lawyer. He bucked the family tradition and went to med school instead.

"He
(Carlos Acala, his character) came from the bottom of the bottom. He came
from a family where nobody went to college. He is above and beyond what
his family had done. He is idolized by his family. And he takes it so
seriously. He is so proud to be there and takes everything to heart. When
Carlos goes to med school, he is not messing around. He doesn't just want
to pass but he wants to be the best in the class. He
wants to be the one that opens up the body. We
discover, actually Corri discovers that there is something going on with
this body. She feels a premonition and tries to explain to us (medical
students) and we start to feel things. My character does not want to get
involved, he just wants to study. My character leads Corri in the right
direction
Scot Davis - Brian Cross "There's actually a lot of back story to my character. He comes from a kind of religious background but he is not really a religious person. He was raised by religious parents. He has a different outlook than some of the other charcters, he's very skeptical. He takes things with a grain of salt. He is more open to things being unexplained and not having the answer to everything. The Va hospital where we shot, was an amazing complex. It's four or five buildings. Underneath they are all connected by these tunnels. They seem to go on forever. The lights flicker and go out. It's dark and creepy.". All Photos
