Profile Information

What do you do ?
I write a little fantasy. You can also find me online at: JayelGibson dot Com or my Tales Touched by Magick community.

My Take on My Life:

I am just Jayel from Port Orford. I enjoy giggling with friends, playing with my critters, and leisurely dinners at 'The Crazy Norwegian.' I like cafe breves in the morning and Ben and Jerry's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream in the evening.

I love the forest, seashore and fog that clothe the southern Oregon coast. I am a wanderer and dreamer, a student of Celtic history, folklore and faith, and an avid PC gamer. In addition, I write a little fantasy.

My Publicist's Version:

In addition to a full-time writing career, Jayel Gibson is the Editor-in-Chief of Envoy Books and serves as an adjunct professor at Southwestern Oregon Community College where she teaches writing for publication. She is a two time Teacher of the Year award recipient for her innovative use of technology and video gaming in the classroom. Ms. Gibson is also the online book club moderator for Realms of Fantasy Magazine. She has been a contributor for Louisiana Parent’s Magazine, Dallas Child Magazine, Education.com and Thefatherlife.com. You can visit www.ancientmirrors.com or www.jayelgibson.com for more information on Jayel Gibson and her award winning Ancient Mirrors fantasy series.

My full professional bio can be viewed at Tales Touched by Magick.

PC Crankiness

"The universe is transformation; life is opinion."
- Marcus Aurelius

I am rested and at peace. I know this to be true because this morning my main computer (the new one with the dual video cards) refused to boot up. 'Tis brain damaged, I know this, in fact I am the cause. As a PC gamer I am well aware of the havoc that game code can cause, and since I am constantly tweaking code and over-clocking it is my own fault. "Can't do it," he said in grating harddrive vibrato, "my machine code is scramb… Continue

Jayel,
Thanks for the kind words. I am trying to evolve the site and make it much more than it was before. It's come a long way with more to go. Looking forward to hearing what happens with movie folks.

Hi Jayel

Thanks for that. Hoping the reviews will give the film a boost.

Glad things are going well with you- yeah but until you see something on paper in black and white don't get excited... in this business everything changes in a second... ha ha ;-)

Hi Jayel

Just two quick links to the first reviews of Dreamscape's extended cut:

We're all fairly happy with them over here as you can imagine.

How things with you?

Jayel, Since you are an award winning author (congrats) contact the office. www.dragoncon.org they have dozens of writers every year. The "guest" status ranges from free entry to the con to full travel, expenses and comped room. Depends on how many people they think would like to see you. If you have a fan club, get them to write to Dragon*Con on your behalf. It is HUGE and really fun.
