Star Trek Podcast And My Underrated Episode Picks

New Podcast Series - Sci-Fi Talk's Trek Voices

A great time was had by all during this 1996 interview with Scotty himself conducted in New York City.Ernest Lilley joined me as Mr Doohan went back to his days serving for the Royal Canadian Air Force and of course, Star Trek. All of his opinions were not shared by Ernest and myself, but he was quite candid. Nice tribute to this fine actor. Share your Star Trek memories or opinions on our voicemail line at 866-644-1505. Program is dedicated to the memory of Gene Roddenberry and Majel Barrett Roddenberry.

My father turned me on to Star Trek when I was a kid. He is a huge fan and so am I. I can watch each episode over and over!! I can never get tired of them. The original series is, and always will be, my favorite.

In the new movie Star Trek, the timeline has changed thanks to Nero going back in time. Somewhat surprise to see Spock with Uhura but figure he might have been with a female.

If you don't remember, but must have, Kirk didn't have his brother Sam. In one tos ep, his brother died when some creature was on the planet his brother, sister and nephew lived on. Sam was really played by Shatner but had a mustache.

When Nero was destroying Vulcan, Amanda, Spock's mother was being beamed up but was on the edge of a cliff and it was giving way during the transportation and she died. In the movies, she was alive. So Nero changed everything when he went into the past before Kirk took command of Enterprise. Also don't think Kirk was on same ship as Pike. Pike was hurt saving some people and was exposed to some radaition and living on some planet til Spock and Kirk came to see him and then Spock took him back to the planet where he met Vena.

I hope they do another movie with same new crew.

I have been a fan of Star Trek when it came on in Sept 1966. I was really amazed on the episodes they showed and I couldn't wait til next week to see the next one. I didn't know til years later they finally put The Cage on dvd with the last episode of trek and they have it in 2 ways, one is in color and black and white and all color. It's a bit different at the end in The Cage as the end to where Kirk sees Pike with Vena. If you haven't seen it, or have seen it, short story here. In the ending of The Cage with Jeffrey Hunter, he sees Vena as she really is. Old and crippled. Pike ask the Keeper if she can help her and he says yes and more. Shows Vena as she was before and then shows Pike next to her. But its not the Pike. It's an illusion of Pike and then shows them going into the elevator and down into where they were before. Now on the one with TOS, Spock takes Pike to the transporter and then the screen comes on. The keeper shows Kirk that Pike and Vena are together and they go down in the elevator.

I liked "All Our Yesterdays" Liked seeing an out of control, alpha Spock. (Hope I'm thinking of the right episode) Liked seeing where the Vulcans came from, emotions still in place. Since Spock is half human, it's no surprise to me that his emotions would be closer to the surface. In the new movie that is certainly played up. No waiting seven years, he's all over Uhura and they certainly changed canon. I am suspect as to why they did this and feel it might have been something a bit deeper than producing a good storyline. Of course, they're now free to redo even the series in AU.

Iv been into star trek since I was a little girl, when the original series was first screened on uk tv ( Many, many years ago...)

From Then on I was hucked....

I love all the series & movies, To me its like a sager, an on going story, from generation to generation, lol.

I watch an episode or two every night before I go to sleep. I start from TOS & watch each in succession & the movies, and now finish with the new movie (which iv now seen twice & love, & cant wait for the next one's)

(ok I'm sad) lol

Some one once told me that " to me, star trek is like an old security blanket" Smiles, & I guess that's kinda right, smiles.
